Charter Night was held April 23, 2019 at the Trojan Grill in New Kent. Attending were Capital District Governor John Morris, Governor Elect David Lurie, Southeast Virginia Trustee Ron McCallum, LG Divsion 12 Dave Rothberg, LG-Designate Division 12 James Shackelford, LG-Elect Division 12 Mary Beth Murphy Capital District Membership Chair Caren Schumacher, New Kent School Superintendent Dr David Myers. Clubs attending were Toano, Williamsburg, Middlesex, Gloucester, Colonial Capital, Poquoson and Denbigh.

The club started off running
A mostly young, aggressive, open-minded, out-of-the-box thinking group of individuals that had their community and county of New Kent in their blood All, wanting to give back and serve the kids, thought anything and everything was possible. Organized on January 31, 2019, met in person and online and had six (6) members at their first opportunity to participate in Kiwanis outside their club at the March Capital District Mid-Year Conference. A fund raiser, community project and sponsoring a new Key Club were first-month items on their agenda to accomplish.
They have been successful ever since, serving their community to improve the world by making a difference in the lives of children All members strongly believe #ItsAllAboutTheKids and #KidsNeedKiwanis.
