(Capital Builder) The Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick held its First Annual Silent/Live Auction/Pancake breakfast on Saturday, September 6th at the American Legion Post #11 in Frederick, MD A silent auction is one in which a bid sheet is placed with each item being sold Bidders then write their name, phone number and bid price on the sheet But someone else can up your bid, so you have to check back and rebid (perhaps often) before closing time.

E-Builder, May 2011: Sarah McAleavy, Coordinator of Food & Nutrition at the Frederick Community Action Agency Food Bank, inform the members of the various programs offered by the Food Bank to assist those in need. McAleavy accepts a $500 donation from Suburban Frederick's fundraising chairman, Joe Vitanza "We are pleased to contribute to organizations serving the needy," said Vitanza.

The Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick recently provided assistance to Hope Alive in Sabillasville, MD Hope Alive is a non-profit Christian ministry that offers transitional home and support services for women and their children The Kiwanians spent the day weeding, landscaping, cleaning the flower beds, tilling the playground mulch, and removing and repairing fencing "We cannot fully express our thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick They were so pleasant, happy and willing to work," said Missy Miller, Operations Manager.
