We had a hand in all work in our community looking to the betterment of conditions, children's aid, school help and suggestions, cleaning up the town and making Bedford an ideal place in which to live. Taking the matter as a whole, we feel that many things overlooked before were brought to the attention of our citizens and carried to a consummation.

Given in the order in which they occurred, our activities included: The sale of a Sione Mountain coin for $100, six successful Ladies' Nights, one joint meeting with Rotary, two community dances, giving special attention to our county friends, for whom they were given; the placing of three Khvanis welcoming signs, giving contributions to the Red Cross, Crippled Children's Fund, and Bedford Firemen's Band, an offer of financial assistance to a new High School building, and finally in having all of our obligations paid and the club strongly organized for the new year.

In conjunction with Rotary, we financed a coach and town baseball team, by means of an Inter-Club baseball game. Donated $50 for firemen to hold a Fourth of July celebration. We met with Lynchburg on May 11 and with Salem on May 24. The condition of the club was at very low. Near the close of the year there was a movement by some members to disband the club and surrender the charter for lack of interest and loss of members. A few members, particular E G Tice Jr, resisted such a movement and declared that they could not and would not be deprived of their membership by such a move. The result being those 18 men agreed to stay and work to rebuild the club.

One of the plans adopted at the beginning of the year was the beautifying of the school grounds. A vaudeville show was given which netted $170 for that purpose. We entertained a delegation of 13 from Roanoke on April 11. On May 30, we played a baseball game with the Rotary Club for the benefit of the Boy Scouts. On June 7 we were host to the Lynchburg Club, at which time Governor Kimballl, LTG Charles G Evans, and Eugene R Woodson, of Washington, were the speakers. A joint meeting with the Bedford Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce was held on June 27, in the interest of civic improvement. On July 25, we played baseball with the Lynchburg Kiwanis Club. We held a Kiwanis dance to raise funds for historical highway markers.

Membership dropped to such a low point and our attendance for the last two months had averaged only 9 men per meeting, in spite of assistance given by the Lynchburg Club and the Governor, that we voted to surrender our charter, and the club has now ceased to exist.
